Geomorphology:

The study of landforms and the processes that form them.

The science that treats the general configuration of the earth’s surface; specifically the study of the classification, description, nature, origin, and development of landforms and their relationships to underlying structures, and of the history of geologic changes as recorded by these surface features. The term is especially applied to the genetic interpretation of landforms.

Area of study leading to an understanding of and appreciation for landforms and landscapes; including those on continents and islands, those beneath oceans, lakes, rivers, glaciers and other water bodies, as well as those on the terrestrial planets and moons of our Solar System.
